How to Connect WooCommerce to AskBiz

Connect your WooCommerce store to AskBiz to bring your eCommerce data into your business intelligence dashboard.

Key Takeaways

  • Connect WooCommerce via Settings > Integrations > WooCommerce
  • You will need your WooCommerce store URL and API key from WordPress
  • AskBiz pulls orders, products, and customer data via the WooCommerce REST API
  • Historical data from up to 2 years back is imported on first connection

What connecting WooCommerce unlocks

Connecting your WooCommerce store to AskBiz brings your order data, product performance, customer purchase history, and revenue trends into your central intelligence dashboard. AskBiz can then answer questions about your store performance, flag anomalies, and surface insights you would otherwise need to find yourself in multiple WooCommerce reports.

Generate your WooCommerce API key

Before connecting in AskBiz, generate a REST API key in your WordPress admin. Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > REST API. Click Add Key. Set the Description to AskBiz, the User to your admin account, and the Permissions to Read. Click Generate API Key. Copy both the Consumer Key and Consumer Secret — you will need these in the next step. Important: the Consumer Secret is only shown once, so copy it immediately.

Connect in AskBiz

In AskBiz, go to Settings > Integrations > WooCommerce. Enter your store URL (e.g. https://yourstore.com), paste your Consumer Key and Consumer Secret, and click Connect. AskBiz will test the connection and begin importing your data. The first historical import (up to 2 years of orders) typically takes 20 to 90 minutes depending on your order volume.

What data is imported

AskBiz imports: all orders and their line items (products, quantities, prices, discounts), product catalogue and category information, customer records (email, order history), refund and return data, and coupon usage. Payment and shipping method data is imported where available. Tax data is imported but is used for reporting context only — always rely on your accounting software for tax filings.

Keeping data fresh

After the initial import, AskBiz syncs new WooCommerce orders every 6 hours. If you need an immediate sync (for example, after a promotional campaign), go to Settings > Integrations > WooCommerce and click Sync Now. If you update product prices or descriptions in WooCommerce, allow up to 24 hours for those changes to be reflected in AskBiz.
