User Research & Experiments

How AskBiz conducts product research and experiments — what we test, how we select participants, what data we use, and your right to opt out.

Why We Run Experiments

AskBiz continuously experiments with improvements to the AI, interface, and business tools. Without controlled experiments, we cannot reliably distinguish genuine improvements from changes that happen to coincide with external factors. Experiments let us measure impact accurately before rolling out changes to all users.

What We Experiment On

Current active experiment areas:

  • Confidence indicator presentation — testing different ways of displaying confidence levels to help users calibrate trust effectively
  • Answer format — testing whether structured formats (tables, bullet points) or prose answers produce better outcomes for different question types
  • Proactive suggestions — testing whether surfacing related questions improves user outcomes
  • Daily Brief format — testing different structures for the morning brief to identify which formats lead to most user action

We do not experiment on:

  • Core AI accuracy (all users get the best available model)
  • Pricing or plan features (no differential pricing experiments)
  • Data handling or privacy settings

How Participants Are Selected

Experiment participants are selected randomly from the eligible user population for a given experiment. Eligibility criteria vary by experiment — for example, a Daily Brief format experiment only runs on users who have the Daily Brief enabled.

You may be in an experiment without knowing it. Where an experiment involves a meaningful change to your experience (not just minor UI differences), we display an experiment indicator in the relevant interface section.

Opting Out

You can opt out of all product experiments at any time:

1. Go to Account Settings → Privacy → Product Experiments

2. Toggle off Participate in product experiments

Opting out means you will always receive the current standard version of AskBiz without experimental variations. It does not affect your AI answer quality, data processing, or any other aspect of the service.

Opting out also disables PostHog session analytics collection from your account.
