How do I re-run onboarding?

Go to Account Settings → Business Profile and edit any field. Changing your sector or business type will prompt AskBiz to re-calibrate your benchmarks.

Can I invite team members during onboarding?

Team seats are available on the Business plan (£49/mo). You can invite members after onboarding from Account Settings → Team.

Can I connect multiple data sources?

Yes — and you should. Connecting Shopify + QuickBooks together unlocks cross-source insights like true profit margin per order (revenue minus COGS, fulfilment, and payment fees).

What if my platform isn't listed?

Is my data shared with anyone?

Accepted Answer

No. Your data is used only to generate your own insights. It is not shared with other users, sold to third parties, or used to train AI models. See our AI Training Policy for details.

Does AskBiz remember previous questions?

Accepted Answer

Within a single session, yes. Between sessions, conversation history is available in the chat panel. AskBiz does not use past conversations to answer new questions unless you reference them explicitly.

Can I ask questions in languages other than English?

Accepted Answer

AskBiz supports English, Arabic, French, German, Spanish, and Mandarin. Switch language in Account Settings → Language.

Question 9

Is the score compared to other businesses?

Accepted Answer

No. Your score is benchmarked against your own historical performance and sector-specific thresholds — not against other AskBiz users. Your data is never used in aggregate comparisons.

How often does the score update?

Free plan: daily. Growth plan: every 6 hours. Business plan: real-time (on data sync events).

Can I drill into what's hurting my score?

Yes. Click any score dimension on the /home page, or ask: 'What's dragging my Pulse score down?'

Can I switch plans mid-month?

Yes. Upgrades are applied immediately and prorated. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.

Is there a free trial of Growth or Business?

Growth plan includes a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. Business plan includes a 7-day trial.

What currency are prices in?

Prices shown in GBP by default. Local pricing is available for USD, EUR, AED, and SAR — shown on the /billing page based on your location.

Can I pause my subscription instead of cancelling?

Not currently — but it's on our roadmap. For now, you can downgrade to Free (no cost) and reconnect your data when you're ready to reactivate.

I upgraded by mistake — can I get a refund?

Yes. Contact hello@askbiz.co within 48 hours of the unintended upgrade for a full refund.

Will I get a refund if I cancel mid-month?

Accepted Answer

No — subscriptions are non-refundable for the current billing period, except in cases of technical failure or accidental upgrade (within 48 hours). Email hello@askbiz.co for exceptional cases.

Can I delete my account entirely?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Go to Account Settings → Privacy → Delete Account. This immediately and permanently deletes all your data. This cannot be undone.

I didn't receive my invoice by email — where is it?

Accepted Answer

Invoices are available on /billing at all times regardless of email delivery. Check your spam folder first (filter for 'billing@askbiz.co'). If still missing, ensure your billing email is correct in Account Settings → Billing Details.

Question 21

Can I change the company name on my invoice?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Update your Company Name in /billing → Billing Details. Changes apply to all future invoices. Historical invoices cannot be retroactively amended — this is standard practice to maintain an unbroken audit trail.

Question 22

I need an invoice in a currency other than GBP. Is that possible?

Accepted Answer

AskBiz invoices in GBP by default for UK-registered customers. If you pay in USD, EUR, AED, or SAR (available based on your location), invoices are issued in that currency. The currency is set when you first subscribe and can be changed by contacting hello@askbiz.co — note that changing currency resets your billing cycle.

My company needs a W-9 or W-8BEN for US tax compliance. Can you provide one?

Yes. AskBiz can provide a W-8BEN (Certificate of Foreign Status) for US customers who require it for 1099 reporting purposes. Email hello@askbiz.co with your request and company details.

Question 24

How do I get invoices for payments made before I added my VAT number?

Accepted Answer

Historical invoices cannot be reissued with your VAT number retroactively — this would alter a legal document. For your accountant, a letter confirming your VAT number and the subscription dates is usually sufficient. Contact hello@askbiz.co if you need this.

Can I connect multiple Shopify stores?

Yes — on the Business plan, you can connect up to 3 Shopify stores. Each appears as a separate source and can be analysed individually or in aggregate.

Does connecting Shopify slow down my store?

Accepted Answer

No. AskBiz reads data via Shopify's API — it does not install any code on your storefront and has no impact on page speed or checkout performance.

Why does AskBiz need access to customer data?

Accepted Answer

Customer data (anonymised) is required for Churn Intelligence, cohort analysis, and repeat purchase rate calculations. AskBiz never stores identifiable customer PII — email addresses and names are hashed.

Does AskBiz work with Amazon Vendor Central?

Can I track competitor ASINs?

Competitor tracking is available on the Business plan via the Competitor Watch feature. You can monitor up to 20 competitor ASINs for price changes and review trends.

Does this work with TikTok Shop in the US?

Yes — UK and US TikTok Shop are both supported.

Can I see which TikTok videos are driving my sales?

Yes, at the individual video level — view count, add-to-cart rate, and attributed sales are all tracked.

Xero integration is in development and expected in Q2 2026. For now, you can export a CSV from Xero and upload it via the CSV connector.

No — AskBiz is read-only. It cannot create, edit, or delete any QuickBooks records.

My date column isn't being recognised. What format should I use?

ISO format (YYYY-MM-DD) is the most reliable. DD/MM/YYYY and MM/DD/YYYY also work. Avoid formats like '3rd Jan 2025' — convert these in Excel first using the TEXT() function.

How does AskBiz get the current exchange rate?

Rates are pulled from mid-market data updated every hour. They're indicative — always confirm with your bank or FX provider before making pricing decisions.

On the Business plan, you can set custom scenario percentages (e.g. -7%, -15%, -30%). On Growth, the three default scenarios are fixed.

Duty rates are sourced from the UK Global Tariff (updated quarterly) and US HTS. They are indicative — confirm with a customs broker for high-value shipments. Rates can change; always check before a large order.

Yes — click Save Calculation to add it to your Shipments list. Saved shipments appear in /shipments and can be updated as costs change.

Does it handle preferential duty rates (e.g. UK-India trade deal)?

Where preferential rates are publicly gazetted, AskBiz applies them automatically based on supplier country. New trade agreements are added within 30 days of implementation.

You can request a market analysis via the chat bar — AskBiz will use public data to generate a custom report, though it won't have the same structured scoring as the 20 core markets.

Core scoring data is updated quarterly. FX rates and freight costs are updated weekly. News-based signals (political risk, trade policy changes) are monitored daily.

No. AskBiz uses Claude by Anthropic — a different AI model known for careful reasoning and reduced hallucination on factual tasks.

What should I do if an answer seems wrong?

Click the thumbs-down icon on any response to flag it. Include a note about what was incorrect. Our team reviews flagged responses to improve accuracy.

Does AskBiz use my past conversations to train its AI?

No. Your conversations are never used to train AI models. See our AI Training Policy for full details.

Can team members see my conversations?

No. Each team member's chat history is private and visible only to them, even on the Business plan. Admins cannot read other users' conversations.

I resumed an old conversation but AskBiz seems to have forgotten the context. Why?

Very old conversations (more than 30 days) reload the visible message history, but AskBiz re-reads the thread to rebuild context rather than having it natively in memory. For long conversations, it may miss nuance. If this happens, briefly summarise the key context in your first new message (e.g. 'We were analysing my Shopify refund rate — I want to continue from where we left off').

Can I import conversation history from another AI tool?

Not currently — importing conversations from ChatGPT, Gemini, or other tools isn't supported. You can paste previous analysis into a new AskBiz conversation as context.

What happens to my conversation history if I cancel my subscription?

Accepted Answer

On downgrade to Free, your history is retained for 30 days (the Free plan limit). If you resubscribe to Growth or Business within that window, your full history is restored. After 30 days on Free, history older than 30 days is permanently deleted.

What time zone is the Daily Brief delivered in?

Your account timezone, set during onboarding. Change it in Account Settings → Timezone.

A condensed Weekend Summary is available for Business plan users — covering Saturday and Sunday in one brief delivered Monday morning. Enable it in Daily Brief → Settings.

Can I set manual thresholds in addition to AI detection?

Yes — on Growth and Business plans, you can add custom rules: e.g. 'Alert me if daily revenue drops below £500' regardless of whether it's an anomaly.

I'm getting too many alerts. How do I reduce them?

Lower the sensitivity to Medium or Low in Alert Settings, or disable specific metrics you're less concerned about.

Can I trigger a churn scan before the monthly run?

Yes — click Run Churn Scan Now in the Churn Intelligence panel. This uses one of your monthly manual triggers (3 included on Growth, unlimited on Business).
