Business Tools Overview

A complete guide to all the free and paid tools available in AskBiz — from the Exchange Rate Risk tool to the Landed Cost Calculator and Social Commerce Intelligence.

What Are Business Tools?#

Business Tools are standalone calculators and intelligence modules built into AskBiz. They are separate from the AI chat — you use them by navigating to Calculators & Tools in the sidebar. Each tool solves a specific business calculation or analysis task that would otherwise require a spreadsheet or specialist software.

When you have data connected (POS, Shopify, QuickBooks, etc.), the tool cards on the overview page automatically pre-fill with your real data — so the Landed Cost card shows your top-selling product's true cost breakdown without any input required.

Exchange Rate Risk#

The Exchange Rate Risk quantifies currency risk on international purchases. It pulls from your shipment records and connected channel data to show which foreign currencies you're exposed to and how much a 10% exchange rate move would cost you.

The card shows live data when you have shipments with foreign currency values recorded. If all your costs are in your local currency, the card will note that no import costs were detected — this is correct behaviour, not a data problem.

Best for: businesses that source stock in foreign currencies (USD, CNY, EUR, etc.).

Landed Cost Calculator#

The Landed Cost Calculator adds up the true cost of importing goods — purchase price, freight, insurance, customs duty, VAT, and handling fees — to give you the real unit cost before you set your retail price.

The card auto-populates from your data in this order of preference: (1) connected channel data (Shopify, QuickBooks) if it includes cost prices, (2) your native POS inventory if products have a cost price set. If products don't have cost prices entered, the card will prompt you to add them in POS → Inventory.

Best for: importers, wholesalers, and any product business that sources from overseas.

Supplier Scorecard#

The Supplier Scorecard grades each supplier based on real shipment performance: on-time delivery rate, average delay, customs hold frequency, and financial impact. Every shipment you track in the Shipments page feeds this automatically — no manual input required.

To see supplier grades, add at least one shipment in Shipments with a supplier name. The card updates as shipments are delivered or delayed.

Best for: businesses that import stock and want to reduce supply chain risk.

Social Commerce Intelligence#

Social Commerce Intelligence tracks product demand signals on TikTok, Instagram, and Pinterest — showing trending products in your category before they spike in sales. Connect a TikTok Shop, Instagram, or Pinterest account in Connected Sources to activate it.

Best for: product businesses with a social commerce channel or anyone wanting to anticipate demand shifts.

Free vs. Paid Tools#

The Exchange Rate Risk and Landed Cost Calculator are fully free — no account required. All other Business Tools (Supplier Scorecard, Social Commerce Intelligence, live data pre-fill) require a Growth or Business plan. On the free plan, tools accept manual input; on paid plans, your connected data pre-fills the inputs automatically.
