How to Filter Expenses by Date Range
How to use the date range inputs in the AskBiz Expenses tab to view spending within any custom date window, and how to clear the filter when done.
Key Takeaways
- Use the From and To date inputs in the filter toolbar to restrict the expense list to a specific period.
- The filter is inclusive — expenses on the From date and the To date are both included.
- Clear the date range by tapping the X on either date input to return to the full history.
Locating the Date Range Inputs
In the filter toolbar of the Expenses tab, alongside the search bar and category chips, you will find two date inputs labelled From and To. They display placeholder dates in the format DD/MM/YYYY (or MM/DD/YYYY depending on your locale settings). These inputs allow you to restrict the expense list to any calendar period you choose — a single day, a week, a month, a quarter, or a custom range.
Setting the From Date
Tap the From input to open a calendar date picker. The picker opens on the current month. Use the left and right arrows at the top of the picker to navigate to an earlier month. Tap the day that marks the start of your desired date range. The picker closes and the From input displays the selected date. The expense list immediately filters to show only expenses on or after that date. If you have not yet set a To date, the list shows all expenses from the From date to the most recent entry.

Tap the To input to open a second calendar date picker. Navigate to the desired end month and tap the day that marks the end of your range. The picker closes and the To input displays that date. The expense list now shows only expenses with a date between the From date and the To date, inclusive. Both date inputs work independently — you can set only a From date, only a To date, or both together. Setting only a To date without a From date shows all expenses up to and including the To date.
Clearing the Date Range Filter
To remove the date range filter, tap the X icon that appears inside each date input when a date is selected. Tapping the X on the From input clears the start date. Tapping the X on the To input clears the end date. If both inputs are cleared, the expenses list returns to showing your complete history, subject to any category chip or search bar filters that may still be active. You can also use the Clear Filters button if visible to reset all active filters simultaneously.
