What is 17Track?#

17Track is a universal shipment tracking service that aggregates tracking data from over 2,000 carriers worldwide. By connecting 17Track to AskBiz, you can monitor all your inbound and outbound shipments in one place — whether they are coming from China, Europe, or moving between African cities. Each shipment shows real-time status, location, and estimated delivery date.

Connecting 17Track#

Go to Settings > Integrations > 17Track. Enter your 17Track API key — get this from your 17Track account dashboard. Click Connect and verify. Once connected, you can add shipments by tracking number and carrier. AskBiz queries 17Track automatically and updates the status every few hours.

Adding shipments#

Go to Shipments > Add Shipment. Enter the tracking number, carrier name, and an optional description like Supplier order — electronics batch 5. The system identifies the carrier from the tracking number format in most cases. You can also add shipments in bulk by uploading a CSV with tracking numbers.

Monitoring and alerts#

The Shipments Dashboard shows all active shipments with colour-coded status — green for on track, amber for delayed, red for customs hold or exception. AskBiz sends alerts when a shipment status changes or when a delivery is delayed beyond the estimated date. The financial impact view shows the value of goods in transit so you know your exposure.
