Finding New Product Opportunities
Use the Product Expansion Scorer to identify variants, bundles, and adjacent products worth adding.
What the scorer evaluates#
The Product Expansion Scorer analyses your sales data and identifies five types of growth opportunities: variant extensions (new sizes or colours of existing products), adjacent categories (related products your customers would buy), bundle opportunities (products frequently bought together), geographic expansion (products performing well in one branch that could work in others), and trend-led additions (products gaining market momentum).
Running the scorer#
Go to Intelligence > Expansion. Click Run Analysis. AskBiz examines your sales patterns, customer purchase combinations, and market data. Results show scored candidates ranked by estimated revenue potential and margin. Each candidate includes a risk assessment — how likely it is to cannibalise existing sales and how much opening stock you would need.
Reading the results#
Each candidate shows a score out of 100, the opportunity type, estimated monthly revenue, estimated margin, cannibalisation risk, and a recommended opening order quantity. High scores with low cannibalisation risk are your best bets. Click a candidate for the detailed analysis explaining why AskBiz recommends it.
Taking action#
For candidates you want to pursue, click Add to Plan. AskBiz creates a tracking card where you can record your decision, the supplier you source from, and the actual results after launch. Over time, this builds a history of expansion decisions and outcomes — feeding the Decision Memory so future recommendations improve.
