Connect eBay to AskBiz

Once connected, AskBiz syncs from your eBay Seller account: Orders (order ID, date, buyer ID, items, quantity, gross and net amount), Revenue (gross sales, eBay fees deducted to calculate net revenue), Product performance (sell-through rate, views, and conversion rate by listing), Returns (return requests and resolution status), and Seller metrics (your eBay seller level rating, defect rate, and late dispatch rate). AskBiz does not sync buyer personal data — buyer IDs are anonymised.

Go to Settings → Data Sources → Add New Source → eBay. Click Connect with eBay — you will be redirected to eBay to log in and authorise AskBiz to access your seller data. Select the scope of permissions (read-only access to orders and listings is the minimum required). After authorising, return to AskBiz — a historical sync of the past 12 months will begin automatically. eBay restricts API access to sold orders only, so active listings without sales will appear in the listing performance section but will not contribute to revenue figures until a sale occurs.

eBay charges a range of fees including insertion fees, final value fees (a percentage of the sale price plus postage), promoted listing fees, and, for managed payments sellers, payment processing fees. AskBiz imports your eBay transaction report to deduct all applicable fees and show you net revenue — the amount that actually reaches your account. This is different from gross sales, which is the price the buyer paid. Always use the net revenue figure for margin calculations.

eBay measures seller performance using three key metrics: Transaction defect rate (the percentage of transactions resulting in a defect — a negative feedback, return, or unresolved case), Cases closed without seller resolution, and Late dispatch rate. AskBiz tracks all three and alerts you if any approach eBay's performance thresholds. Falling below eBay's minimum performance standards results in search ranking penalties and, in severe cases, account restrictions — so monitoring these in AskBiz alongside your sales data gives you early warning.
