Using Files as Context in Chat

How to reference uploaded files when chatting with AskBiz for data-driven answers from your own datasets.

How file context works#

When you click Ask about this → on the Files page, AskBiz loads that file as context for your conversation. This means:

  • AskBiz knows your column names, data types, and row count
  • You can ask questions about the data without specifying the file name each time
  • Analysis is based on your actual data, not general knowledge

What you can ask#

With a file loaded, try questions like:

  • 'What's the total of the Revenue column?'
  • 'Which product has the most stock?'
  • 'Show me items where margin is below 15%'
  • 'What's the average order value by month?'
  • 'Find any anomalies in this data'

Combining with other data#

File context works alongside your connected data sources. You can ask questions that combine both — for example, comparing uploaded cost data against live Shopify revenue.
