How AskBiz Generates Answers
How AskBiz uses your connected data and AI to generate business insights. Understanding confidence levels, data freshness, and when to verify answers.
The Answering Process#
When you ask a question, AskBiz:
1. Parses your intent — understands what you're asking and what data is needed
2. Queries your connected data — pulls relevant metrics from your sources
3. Applies AI analysis — uses Claude (by Anthropic) to reason over your data
4. Generates a structured response — with numbers, charts, or a narrative explanation
5. Flags confidence level — indicates how certain the answer is based on data completeness
Confidence Levels#
Answers carry a confidence indicator:
- High confidence — based on complete, recent, directly connected data
- Medium confidence — based on partial data or data older than 30 days
- Low confidence — based on limited data; the answer is directionally useful but verify before acting on it
- Estimate — no directly relevant data; AskBiz is using benchmarks or inference
Always act with appropriate caution on Medium or Low confidence answers for financial decisions.
Data Freshness#
Answers are only as good as your data. AskBiz shows a data freshness indicator next to any answer derived from synced data:
- 🟢 Synced < 6 hours ago
- 🟡 Synced 6–24 hours ago
- 🔴 Synced > 24 hours ago (manual refresh recommended)
To force a sync, go to /sources and click Sync Now on the relevant connector.
What the AI Cannot Know#
AskBiz is transparent about its limitations:
- It doesn't know about events that happened before your data was connected
- It cannot access data from platforms you haven't connected
- General business knowledge has a knowledge cutoff (mid-2025) for external facts
- Regulatory information is provided as guidance, not legal advice
