Card Payments at the POS
Process card payments through Stripe at your cashier terminal with one-tap checkout.
How card checkout works#
When the cashier selects Card as the payment method and taps Charge Card, the transaction is created and the card payment component appears. This connects to your Stripe account (configured in POS > Payments) to process the charge. The customer taps, inserts, or swipes their card on your terminal. Once confirmed, the POS moves directly to the receipt screen.
Supported card types#
With Stripe, you accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and local card networks. Apple Pay and Google Pay are also supported if you have enabled them during Stripe setup. Contactless (NFC) payments work on supported terminals. All major card types process instantly with confirmation in under 5 seconds.
Payment confirmation flow#
After tapping Charge Card, the Complete button disappears โ preventing double-charges. The payment component shows a processing state. On success, the cashier sees a confirmation and the screen transitions to the receipt. On failure, an error message appears and the cashier can retry or switch payment methods.
