Adding a Shipment to Track

How to add a new shipment for tracking in AskBiz — enter the tracking number, carrier, supplier, and shipment details.

How to add a shipment#

1. Go to Shipments in the sidebar

2. Click the + Add shipment button

3. Fill in the details:

  • Tracking number — from your carrier or supplier
  • Supplier name — who's sending the goods
  • SKU — the product or order reference
  • Quantity — number of units
  • Unit cost — per-unit cost (used to calculate financial impact on Growth/Business plans)
  • Expected arrival — when you expect delivery
  • Shipment type — inbound (from supplier) or outbound (to customer)

4. Click Add & Track → to save and begin tracking

After adding#

AskBiz registers your shipment and attempts to pull live tracking updates from the carrier. The shipment appears with a Pending status until the first tracking event is received.

If the carrier cannot be automatically detected from your tracking number format, the shipment is still saved and appears in your list — you'll see an amber notice confirming it was saved without live tracking. This does not affect Supplier Scorecard grading; the shipment is recorded and counts toward your supplier's performance profile.

Shipment and Supplier Scorecard#

Every shipment you add is automatically fed into the Supplier Scorecard (accessible via Calculators & Tools). As shipments are delivered, delayed, or flagged for customs holds, the Scorecard grades each supplier across on-time rate, delay frequency, customs risk, and financial impact — with no extra input required from you.
