Getting Started with POS Logistics & Courier

What the Logistics sector in AskBiz POS is for — your own courier/dispatch operation, not third-party carrier tracking — and how to start using it.

What this sector is — and isn't#

The Logistics sector is for businesses that run their own courier or dispatch operation — your own trucks, your own drivers, your own parcels moving between your own locations or to customers. It's a different thing from Shipment Carrier Tracking (a separate Business Intelligence topic), which is about tracking shipments through third-party carriers like DHL or FedEx via connected integrations — if you're an exporter or online seller checking on shipments a carrier is handling for you, that's the one you want instead.

Getting the sector#

Like Retail, Repair, Restaurant, and Salon, Logistics is one of AskBiz POS's sectors, switched on from the Services tab in your admin dashboard (askbiz.co/pos) — see Running Multiple Sectors from One POS Account for how the sector picker works generally. Staff you assign to Logistics log in at pos.askbiz.co and see only the logistics workflow.

What's in the Logistics hub#

The Logistics hub is where your day-to-day dispatch work happens, with separate screens for intake (logging a new parcel), dispatch (assigning parcels to trucks and drivers), and collection (confirming a parcel has been picked up, with ID verification and photo evidence) — plus a dashboard summarising activity. Intake uses your device camera, in keeping with AskBiz's camera-first approach elsewhere in POS, and works offline: a parcel logged without a connection queues locally and syncs once you're back online.
