Delivery Tracking and Driver Management
Manage delivery orders, assign drivers, and track deliveries from kitchen to customer.
Setting up delivery#
Go to Restaurant > Deliveries and enable delivery orders. Add your delivery zones with radius or postcode boundaries. Set delivery fees per zone โ for example KES 200 within 5km, KES 350 for 5-10km. Set minimum order values if needed. Delivery orders appear on a separate tab in your KDS so kitchen staff can prioritise them alongside dine-in orders.
Adding and assigning drivers#
Go to Deliveries > Drivers to add your delivery team. Each driver gets a PIN login like other POS staff. When a delivery order is ready, assign it to an available driver. The driver sees the order details, customer address, and phone number on their device. You can track which driver is currently out and how many deliveries they have completed today.
Order lifecycle#
Delivery orders move through statuses: received, preparing, ready for pickup, out for delivery, delivered. Each status change timestamps automatically. The customer can receive WhatsApp updates at each stage if you enable delivery notifications. If a delivery is delayed beyond your threshold, the system alerts the manager.
Delivery analytics#
Track average delivery time, orders per driver, delivery fee revenue, and customer feedback by zone. Use the data to decide whether to expand your delivery radius or add drivers during peak hours. AskBiz flags if delivery times are trending upward so you can address capacity before customers start complaining.
