Exporting and Downloading Data from AskBiz
Export your AskBiz data as PDF reports, CSV files, or raw data exports for use in Excel, your accountant, or investors.
Export types available
AskBiz supports three export formats:
PDF — formatted report of any dashboard, including charts and commentary. Suitable for board packs, investor updates, and internal reporting.
CSV — raw data export of the underlying records behind any metric or table. Suitable for further analysis in Excel or Google Sheets, or for uploading to another system.
Excel (.xlsx) — formatted spreadsheet with multiple tabs, one per dashboard section. Available on the Business plan.
How to export a dashboard
From any dashboard, click the Export icon in the top right corner (next to the Share icon). Select your format (PDF, CSV, or Excel). The export reflects your current date range and filter settings — adjust these before exporting if needed.
PDF exports are generated instantly. CSV and Excel exports for large date ranges may take 1-2 minutes — you will receive an email with a download link when ready.
Exporting specific data tables
Most data tables in AskBiz (product lists, customer lists, order logs) have an individual export button — look for the download icon in the top right of the table card. This exports only that table's data as a CSV, not the entire dashboard.
Scheduled exports
On the Business plan, you can schedule automatic exports to be emailed to you or your team on a weekly or monthly basis. Go to Reports → Scheduled Exports → Create Schedule. Select the dashboard, format, recipients, and schedule. Scheduled exports are delivered as email attachments.
Data retention on exported files
Once data is exported from AskBiz, AskBiz has no control over how it is stored or used. Apply the same data security standards to exported files as you do to the original data — store sensitive exports in access-controlled folders and do not share them via unsecured channels like personal email or WhatsApp.
