Guest Access: Sharing With External Stakeholders
How to give investors, board members, or clients read-only access to specific dashboards without creating a full AskBiz account.
What Is Guest Access?
Guest Access lets you share a specific AskBiz dashboard with someone outside your organisation — an investor, board member, accountant, or client — without giving them a full account. Guests can view the data and charts you choose to share, but cannot make changes, access other dashboards, or see your connected integrations.
Creating a Guest Link
To share a dashboard externally:
1. Open the dashboard you want to share
2. Click Share → Guest Access
3. Choose View Only or View + Download permissions
4. Set an expiry date (7 days, 30 days, 90 days, or no expiry)
5. Optionally protect the link with a password
6. Copy and send the link
Guests access the dashboard via their browser — no account required.
What Guests Can and Cannot Do
Guests can:
- View all charts and data cards on the shared dashboard
- Filter by date range (if you allow it)
- Export data to CSV or PDF (if you enable View + Download)
Guests cannot:
- Access any other dashboard or page
- See your connected data sources or settings
- Edit, comment, or interact with AI features
- See real-time data beyond what was loaded when they open the link (snapshots are refreshed hourly)
Managing Active Guest Links
All active guest links are listed under Settings → Sharing → Guest Links. From here you can:
- See who has accessed a link (email not required, but access timestamps are recorded)
- Revoke a link immediately if circumstances change
- Extend or shorten expiry dates
- Add or remove password protection
Revoking a link is immediate — the next time a guest tries to open it, they will see an access denied message.
Guest Access vs. Team Seats
Guest Access is designed for infrequent, read-only external viewers. If someone needs to ask questions, use the AI, or view dashboards regularly, they should be added as a Team Member instead (Business plan). Team members have full access to the features you enable for them; guests have view-only access to a single dashboard.
