How to Invite a Team Member

Give colleagues access to AskBiz with the right role for their needs — and learn which role to assign based on what each person in your team actually does.

Plan limits for team members#

Team member seats depend on your plan:

  • Free: 1 user (account owner only)
  • Growth: up to 3 users
  • Business: up to 15 users, with custom dashboard permissions per user

If you need more seats than your plan allows, contact support@askbiz.co — Enterprise arrangements are available for larger teams.

How to invite someone#

Go to Settings → Team → Invite Member. Enter the team member's email address and select their role (Admin, Analyst, or Viewer — see below for which role to assign). Click Send Invite.

The invited person receives an email with a link to set up their password and access your AskBiz account. The invite link expires after 7 days. If it expires before they accept, go to Settings → Team → Pending Invites and click Resend. There is no limit on the number of times you can resend.

Which role to assign — a practical guide#

Choosing the right role matters for both security and usability:

Admin — assign to co-founders, a senior operations or finance lead, or anyone who needs to manage data connections and team settings. Keep Admin count low — one or two maximum.

Analyst — the right role for most team members who work with data regularly: your marketing manager, operations manager, finance analyst, or e-commerce executive. They can ask questions, run reports, and export data without the risk of changing your account settings.

Viewer — ideal for stakeholders who need to see the numbers but should not interact with them: investors, board members, your accountant (if you prefer not to give export access), or an external advisor reviewing performance.

What the invited person sees#

Once they accept the invite and log in, they see the same AskBiz interface filtered to the dashboards and features their role permits. They will not see your password, payment details, or any data you have explicitly restricted for their role (Business plan). They will see all the same connected data sources — AskBiz does not support data source-level access control on Growth plan.

Managing and removing team members#

To change a team member's role: go to Settings → Team → Members, click the three-dot menu next to their name, and select Change Role. Changes take effect immediately.

To remove access: click Remove Member from the same menu. Their access is revoked immediately. Any data they exported before removal stays on their device — revoking access does not delete previously exported files.

To transfer account ownership (if the account owner is leaving the business): find the new owner, click Transfer Ownership, and confirm with your password. Your role changes to Admin after the transfer.
