My Dashboard Is Empty — What Does That Mean?

If your AskBiz dashboard is blank or showing no data, here are the most common reasons and exactly how to fix each one.

Reason 1 — No data source connected yet

This is the most common reason. AskBiz needs at least one connected integration to show data.

To check: go to Settings → Integrations. If the list is empty, click Add Integration and connect your first source (Shopify, QuickBooks, Stripe, etc.).

Once connected, your first sync takes 1–5 minutes depending on how much data you have.

Reason 2 — First sync is still running

If you just connected a data source, the first sync may still be in progress — especially for accounts with 12+ months of historical data.

To check: go to Settings → Integrations and look at the status next to your connected source. You'll see:

  • Syncing... — still in progress, wait a few minutes
  • Last synced: [time] — sync complete, refresh your dashboard
  • Error — there's a problem; see Reason 4 below

Reason 3 — Date range filter set to a period with no data

Check the date range filter at the top of your dashboard. If it's set to "Last 7 days" but you only connected data going back 30 days, your recent data might not cover that window.

Fix: Click the date range picker → try All Time or Last 90 Days to see if data appears. If it does, your data is there — just not in the selected window.

Reason 4 — Integration sync error

If your integration shows an Error status in Settings → Integrations:

1. Click the integration name to see the error details

2. Common fixes:

  • Authentication expired: Reconnect by clicking "Reconnect" and logging in again
  • Permission revoked: Re-authorise AskBiz in the source platform (e.g. Shopify admin → Apps → AskBiz → Permissions)
  • API rate limit: Wait 15 minutes and click "Retry Sync"

3. If the error persists, email hello@askbiz.co with the error message and we'll investigate

Reason 5 — Browser or cache issue

Occasionally a browser cache issue prevents the dashboard from loading correctly.

Quick fixes:

  • Hard refresh: Ctrl + Shift + R (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + R (Mac)
  • Try opening AskBiz in an Incognito/Private window
  • Try a different browser

If the dashboard loads in a private window but not normally, clear your browser cache for askbiz.co.
