Stripe Sync Errors

Fix common Stripe connection and sync problems — API key issues, webhook errors, and missing payment data.

Connection failed#

If Stripe fails to connect:

1. Go to Sources and click Connect Stripe

2. Log in to your Stripe account when prompted

3. Ensure you're connecting the correct Stripe account (live, not test mode)

4. Grant the requested read-only permissions

If it still fails, check that your Stripe account is fully activated (not in restricted mode).

Missing payment data#

If payments are missing after sync:

  • AskBiz imports successful charges, refunds, and payouts — not failed or incomplete charges
  • Check the date range in your dashboard
  • If you recently connected, allow 5–10 minutes for the initial sync to complete
  • Very large Stripe accounts (100k+ transactions) may take up to an hour for the first sync

Webhook errors#

If you've set up Stripe webhooks for real-time updates and they're failing:

  • Verify the webhook endpoint URL in your Stripe dashboard
  • Check that the webhook signing secret matches what's configured in AskBiz
  • Ensure the webhook is listening for the correct events (payment_intent.succeeded, charge.refunded, etc.)
