The AI Is Not Responding or Giving Unhelpful Answers

What to do when AskBiz's AI chat does not respond, gives a generic answer, or seems to misunderstand your question.

The AI says it does not have enough data

If AskBiz responds with 'I don't have enough data to answer this' or similar, it means the data needed to answer your question has not been connected or has not synced recently.

Fix: Check which data sources are connected in Settings โ†’ Integrations. If the relevant platform is not connected, add it. If it is connected, check the last sync timestamp and trigger a manual sync if needed.

The AI gives a generic answer instead of using your data

If the AI gives a general answer (like something from a textbook) rather than an answer based on your business data, it usually means the question was not specific enough for AskBiz to understand which data to use.

Try:

  • Add specificity: instead of 'how are my sales?' try 'what was my total revenue in April 2025 compared to April 2024?'
  • Name your platform: 'what is my Shopify conversion rate this month?'
  • Specify a time period: 'which of my top 10 products by revenue had the highest refund rate in Q1 2025?'

The AI response seems stuck or never completes

If the AI starts responding but the response never finishes (spinning indicator for more than 60 seconds), the request may have timed out.

Fix:

1. Refresh the page and try the question again

2. Break a complex question into smaller parts

3. Check status.askbiz.co for any ongoing AI service issues

You have reached your question limit

Each AskBiz plan includes a monthly question allowance. If you have reached your limit, the AI chat will be paused until your next billing cycle.

Check your remaining questions in Settings โ†’ Plan โ†’ Usage. To increase your limit, upgrade your plan or purchase additional question credits.

The AI gave an answer that seems factually wrong

AskBiz's AI can occasionally make errors, particularly for complex multi-step calculations or when working with incomplete data. If an answer seems wrong:

1. Click the thumbs down icon below the response to flag it

2. Check the underlying data yourself in the relevant dashboard

3. Rephrase the question with more explicit instructions

Flagged responses are reviewed by our team and used to improve the AI.
