Filtering by Branch and Sector Across Your Dashboard

How the Branch and Sector filter dropdowns work — and how they affect every tab of your POS dashboard, from Overview through to Audit.

Where the filters appear#

The Branch and Sector dropdowns appear at the top of your POS dashboard, directly above the date range selector. They are always visible regardless of which tab is active. This means you set your filter once and it applies consistently as you move between Overview, Operations, Staff, Branches, Map, and Audit — you do not need to re-select your filter on each tab.

Branch filter#

The Branch dropdown lists every location (branch) you have added under your account. Select a specific branch to see only transactions, staff, and inventory for that location. Select All Branches to see your consolidated view across the entire business. If you have not set up branches yet, the dropdown shows only 'All Branches' and the filter has no visible effect.

Sector filter#

The Sector dropdown lets you isolate one sector at a time: Restaurant, Repair, Salon, or Retail. When you select a sector, all dashboard data — revenue figures, transaction lists, staff performance, geo-tagged map pins, and audit entries — is filtered to show only that sector's activity. Select All Sectors to return to the combined view.

How sector filtering works technically#

Sector attribution works through your staff assignments. Each transaction is recorded by a staff member who is assigned to a sector. When you filter by Retail, you see transactions processed by retail-assigned staff. This means the filter is only as accurate as your sector assignments — if a cashier has no sector assigned, their transactions default to Retail.

Using both filters together#

You can combine Branch and Sector filters. For example: Branch 2, Retail — shows only retail transactions processed at Branch 2. This lets you answer specific questions like 'How did our Manchester branch repair revenue compare to Birmingham last week?' without manually segmenting data in a spreadsheet.

Filter persistence across tabs#

Your filter selection persists as you switch between tabs within a session. If you set Sector to Restaurant and navigate from Overview to Staff and then to Audit, you will see restaurant-filtered data on all three. The filter resets to All Branches / All Sectors when you refresh the page.
