Viewing POS Data in Dashboards and Reports
Your POS transactions feed directly into AskBiz dashboards. Learn how to set up a retail dashboard, read POS widgets, and schedule reports for your team.
How POS data reaches your dashboard#
Every transaction processed through AskBiz POS is written to your central data store in real time. Dashboard widgets pull from the same store, so your numbers update within seconds of a sale completing. There is no export step, no CSV upload, and no overnight batch — the data flows automatically.
If you also sell online (Shopify, Amazon, Etsy, etc.), your POS data appears alongside online data in a unified view. This means you can see total revenue across all channels, compare in-store vs online performance, and spot products that sell differently depending on channel.
Setting up a POS dashboard#
Go to Dashboards → Create Dashboard and choose the Retail POS template, or start blank and add widgets manually. Recommended widgets:
- Revenue Today — running total with day-over-day comparison
- Units Sold — volume independent of value
- Average Basket Size — mean transaction value
- Top Products — ranked by revenue or units
- Sales by Staff — cashier leaderboard
- Low Stock Alerts — products approaching reorder point
Arrange them in the order you check each morning. Save the dashboard as your default home view.
Scheduling POS reports#
Go to Dashboards → [your POS dashboard] → Schedule to set up automatic email delivery. Choose daily, weekly, or monthly. Weekly reports sent on Monday mornings are popular — they give you a full view of the previous week's retail performance before the new week starts.
Reports include all widgets on the dashboard as a PDF snapshot. You can share them with staff, store managers, or your accountant without giving them AskBiz login access.
