Tracking Parts Used in Repairs

How parts stock deduction really works in AskBiz repair jobs — automatic and accurate once a part is logged, with the current limits on adding and removing parts.

Automatic stock deduction#

The moment a part is logged against a repair job, AskBiz deducts it from your inventory automatically — no manual stock adjustment needed. This only happens while a job is Accepted or In Progress.

Adding parts today#

Parts logging is built on the backend, but there's currently no button in either app to attach a part to a specific job — the Parts screen at pos.askbiz.co/repair/parts is your general parts inventory (add a part with its SKU, stock level, cost, sale price, and supplier), not a per-job picker yet. Job detail screens show any parts already on a job as a read-only list.

No removal or restock yet#

There's currently no way to remove a part from a job once it's logged, or to have stock automatically restored — deduction is one-directional. If a part was logged in error, adjust your inventory stock level manually to correct it.
