Customer Notifications for Repair Jobs
The real notification set for repair jobs — six automatic WhatsApp messages across intake, quoting, and collection, one on/off switch, and why email notifications don't currently deliver.
The six real notifications#
AskBiz sends these automatically over WhatsApp:
- Intake confirmation — the moment a job is created with a customer phone number, including the price if one's already set
- Quote — sent (or resent) whenever you choose to send it
- Ready for collection — fires once, when a job is marked Completed
- Collected — fires on collection
- Warranty confirmation — fires alongside the collected message
- Photo update — sent whenever you tap Share Update to send new progress photos
There's no separate "quote approved" notification — approval is a manual status change your staff make after the customer replies, not a system-triggered message. "Repair complete" and "ready for collection" are the same message, not two separate stages.
WhatsApp works, email doesn't — yet#
Every notification above is delivered over WhatsApp. Email is shown as an option in places but doesn't currently deliver — treat WhatsApp as the only channel your customers will actually receive right now.
One on/off switch, not per-stage#
You can turn notifications on or off, but as a single setting covering all of them — there's no way to enable some stages and disable others individually, and there's no free-text "send a custom message" composer. If you want to share something outside the standard messages, use Share Update on a job to send new photos with a short link.
