Getting Started with AskBiz POS
Set up AskBiz POS from scratch — enable the module, add your first products, configure tax settings, and process your first test sale in under 10 minutes.
What is AskBiz POS?#
AskBiz POS is a built-in point of sale system that turns any phone, tablet, or laptop into a fully functional till. Unlike third-party POS systems that require separate hardware and monthly subscriptions, AskBiz POS is included in your existing plan and works straight from your browser.
Because it is native to AskBiz, every sale you process feeds directly into your dashboards, Daily Brief, and AI chat. There is no CSV export, no sync delay, and no data reconciliation — your in-store and online numbers live in one place from the moment you start selling.
Enabling the POS module#
Navigate to Settings → Features → Point of Sale and toggle it on. AskBiz will create a dedicated /pos section in your sidebar. You will also see a new POS tab on your main dashboard showing in-store revenue alongside your existing channels.
If you are on the Free plan, POS is available with a limit of 50 transactions per month. Growth and Business plans have unlimited transactions. Check Account → Plan if you are unsure which plan you are on.
Adding your first products#
Head to /pos/inventory and tap Add Product. Enter the product name, price, and optionally a barcode or SKU. If you already have products in your Shopify or other connected store, tap Import from Source to pull them in automatically — AskBiz will match on SKU or product name.
You can also bulk-import products via CSV. Download the template from the inventory page, fill in your product details, and upload. AskBiz maps columns automatically and flags any rows that need attention.
Processing your first test sale#
Go to /pos and you will see the sale screen. Tap a product or use the camera scanner to add items to the basket. When ready, tap Charge and select a payment method (cash, card, or other). For your first sale, try a cash transaction to get familiar with the flow.
Once complete, the sale appears immediately in your POS dashboard and in your main AskBiz analytics. Ask the AI chat *"How much did I sell in-store today?"* to confirm everything is connected.
