Getting Started with AskBiz POS

AskBiz POS is a built-in point of sale system that turns any phone, tablet, or laptop into a fully functional till. Unlike third-party POS systems that require separate hardware and monthly subscriptions, AskBiz POS is included in your existing plan and works straight from your browser.

Because it is native to AskBiz, every sale you process feeds directly into your dashboards, Daily Brief, and AI chat. There is no CSV export, no sync delay, and no data reconciliation — your in-store and online numbers live in one place from the moment you start selling.

AskBiz POS isn't a module you switch on — it comes from the business type you pick at signup (Market stall, Restaurant/Food stand, Shop/Kiosk, Salon/Barbershop, or Repair Shop). Go to your Inventory tab and tap Add Product. Enter the product name and price, and optionally a photo. You can also bulk-add products by pasting a simple CSV list of name, price, quantity, and unit.

Open your POS dashboard and you will see the sale screen. Tap a product, or use the camera to photograph it — AskBiz's AI identifies products from a photo rather than reading a barcode (see Scanning Products with Your Camera for how this really works) — to add items to the basket. When ready, tap Charge and select a payment method. For your first sale, try a cash transaction to get familiar with the flow.

Once complete, the sale appears immediately in your POS dashboard and in your main AskBiz analytics. Ask the AI chat *"How much did I sell in-store today?"* to confirm everything is connected.
